Denise Donaldson graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with a degree in Psychology.
Denise is a product of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area, attending High School in Lancaster. Growing up, Denise was inspired by several teachers she had, especially, Ms. Johnson – who helped her build confidence in herself. It was teachers like Ms. Johnson that motivated Denise to want to teach and inspire the minds of students.
Prior to joining Dallas Teacher Residency, Denise served as an AmeriCorps Member with City Year Dallas – where she tutored and mentored middle school students in math and English. This experience provided Denise great insight into the Dallas school district and also helped solidify her desire to one day, lead a classroom of her own.
During the 2016-2017 school year, Denise will be completing her residency training at Hillcrest High School, under the guidance of her mentor teacher, Ms. Oriabure.
In her free time Denise enjoys exploring Dallas, traveling, and spending time with her family.
