Caleb Moen graduated from Hendrix College with a degree in Anthropology.
A native of the DFW area (from Coppell), Caleb has always had an innate desire to help shape the people “that will come after him” – and views education as the critical lynchpin in helping open doors to young people.
Caleb loves life and is always looking for ways to put a smile on the face of others. In the 4th grade, he decided to draw on the floor of his classroom. – ‘just because.’ Ironically, after coming clean to his teacher, Ms. Beavak, about his ‘offense’ – she became his all-time favorite teacher.
Prior to joining Dallas Teacher Residency, Caleb was a City Year Corps Member – where he spent the year tutoring and mentoring students at Roosevelt High School in Dallas Independent School District. This experience with City Year reaffirmed his interest in teaching – and his desire to impact the lives of students from inside the classroom.
During the 2016-2017 school year, Caleb will be completing his residency training in a 5th grade classroom at Anne Frank Elementary School, under the guidance of his mentor teacher, Ms. Gammill. He is most eager to gain more professional experience during the residency year – “learning what to-do … and what not to-do.”
In his free time, Caleb enjoys reading Harry Potter and cycling.
