Angela Uno graduated from Southern Methodist University with a degree in Psychology.
Her desire to become a teacher is mostly influenced by her love of coaching – specifically, coaching water polo. A former Division-1 Water Polo Player herself, Angela has always been passionate about sharing her love for the sport with youth, which she has achieved by coaching high school and club level water polo both in California, and here in Dallas.
During her residency year Angela was most excited about the opportunity to interact with students on a day-to-day basis. The fact that she would be able to spend an entire year building relationships with her students during her training year was especially appealing.
Angela spent her 2015-2016 residency year teaching AP U.S. History and Government at Trini Garza Early College High School in Dallas Independent School District under the guidance of her mentor, Ms. Adams. In addition to spending the 2015-2016 school year interning at Garza, Angela successfully earned her teaching license, and also, completed her Master’s Degree in Education from Texas A&M University – Commerce.
Upon successful completion of her residency year, Angela received and accepted a full time teaching position teaching Economics and Government at Hillcrest High School in Dallas ISD.
